As a communications coordinator for American University's School of Professional & Extended Studies, I uncover positive and inspiring narratives about the institution by way of video, photography, and the written word. This also involves covering university events, writing profiles of notable alumni, and producing research-informed articles on career preparedness.
From 2013 to 2016, I wore many hats as a staff writer and editor for my alma mater's newspaper, The New University. There, I gained experience producing data-informed op-eds, immersive features, and profiles, among other editorial priorities.
In 2014, I interned for music magazine Super45 while studying abroad in Santiago, Chile. While there, I uncovered stories about Santiago's raw and eclectic modern music scene through mixtape reviews and event coverage. These photos captured in Chile, Peru, and Bolivia are what I experienced off-channel.
In 2014, I interned for San Francisco magazine, where I wrote stories about the diverse culture, arts, and history of this eclectic city by the bay. Although these photos are not part of my work with this publication, they show the opportunity I took to study the effect of black and white imagery while depicting San Francisco's famed attractions.
